INTRODUCING WISTABITES!

The most mysterious creatures of Vowella Valley, the wistas, and I invite you to take an inside peek at the world of Heaven’s Wait. The wistas love to collect quotes from HW’s stories and characters, as well as snippets from my author’s diary, so we decided to share these HW “bites” by creating what we call WISTABITES. We hope you will enjoy the bites, collect them, and share them with your friends and children. If you “follow” them on various forms of social media, you may even be eligible to win prizes that celebrate future Heaven’s Wait events. Note: the wistas like to post Wistabites in random order, just to keep you guessing from where in the Heaven’s Wait series each Wistabite came. Can you figure out the trick for organizing them correctly? Here we go with the first two. . .

Fantasy? Young Adult?

Today, I continue to wonder which book genre is best suited for my Heaven’s Wait series. Though, at a glance, the series appears to be written for a young audience, it does not speak exclusively to young people. Significant life messages and family situations that have realistic psychological depth are woven throughout, despite its overall lighthearted and often comical tone. I think of The Simpsons and the Flintstones and remember they were not necessarily written for children. I think it best to quit pondering the question and let the audience provide the answer.

Bulletin: Wistabites are coming.

Wow, Did my Brain Work Overtime Last Night!

The past couple of weeks, I've been heavily researching the ins and outs of various social media options. And I've been working on growing my author platform for my evolving book series. Well, yesterday I landed on a concept that just might help me grow my platform.

So during the night, my right brain awoke with a start and spewed out idea after idea for implementing the concept. Then my left brain kicked in to logically manage those ideas. The back-and-forth was fascinating, but how was I supposed to sleep with all that going on?

I know better than to let my head become that active at that time of the night. I should have gotten up and captured the ideas on paper. Instead, I took a step back and chose to become the observer of the interaction. I appreciated the fact that my head was still able to come up with such concepts and know what to do with them. I allowed the thoughts to run their course and then faded back to sleep.

Now, let's see what actually comes of my brain's nocturnal antics.
